70% of hair still growing back after 6th laser hair removal session, 3 more sessions left, is this normal and is there any hope?

After each session, for the first 2 weeks, I can wait long in between shaves and the hair is thinner and lighter, but after 4 weeks after each session, the hair grows back similar to prior LHR. The hair loss seems to be improving but then suddenly comes back similarily pre-LHR before the next treatment. I am going in for my 7th/9 treatment, and I heard 80% should be gone by now, but I've only lost about 20%. Would 12 treatments be more effective than 9 for me, or am I not compatible?

It sounds as though you are not getting properly treated. Without knowing your hair type, I can safely say that if you are a candidate for hair removal then you should be seeing almost 80% at 7 treatments.  The only reason you would not is if the technician is not treating you at the proper settings.  I would suggest searching for another office and making sure they are reputable and know what they are doing.

Thank you for your question.  You may have been getting ineffective treatments.  This could be due to poor settings, calibration of the laser or technique of the clinician.  We utilize a Vectus diode laser to safely and effectively treat all skin types.  We recommend finding an experienced and reputable provider in your area with updated equipment.  Calibration and power of the laser is important for a safe, comfortable and effective treatment.  Find out if their laser is under a maintenance contract.  If their laser isn’t calibrated on a regular basis or is underpowered, your treatment may be painful or inefficient.
