I had a brow lift at the hairline in Dec. I'm happy with brow the position. I have an issue with my forehead. Before surgery, if I lifted my brows I'd have wrinkles. Now when I lift my brows, the area above my brows looks like a lump of muscle, but the top of my forehead is smooth. And my temples have deep wrinkles. My doc said it's normal to have skin bunch when you lift the brows. This isn't normal for me. My doc said it could take a year for full healing, and that the bunching should go away.
Answer: Brow lift Hello TrishaBrow lift patients should expect to leave the surgery center with taping or light dressing, depending on the surgeon’s preference. This will be removed during the first week following surgery. Bruising and swelling are normal at this point, and temporary asymmetry is very common. Most swelling will go away within 48 hours and bruising will resolve within one to two weeks. After one week, concealing makeup is permitted. The result of your brow lift should become apparent after several weeks, and minor changes may occur over several months as your face settles in to its new appearance.

Answer: Brow Lift Thank you for your question. Your surgeon is correct in that it could take up to 12 months of healing. After a weeks of healing and recovery, however, the changes tend to me noticeable and you can resume normal activities. The surgery will have permanent effects and improve the frown lines and wrinkles you experienced before your surgery. I suggest that you discuss your recovery expectations with your board certified facial plastic surgeon. Best wishes,

Answer: Brow lift Recovery Hi Thanks for the question. It is important to include pictures to help us make more meaningful comments. With that said, the forehead should be smooth after forehead lift. That is the goal after all. It can take a year to fully heal your incision, the forehead itself should be smooth and look good. Talk to your surgeon or get a second opinion. Dr Ben

Answer: Browlift Concerns Dear trishaa, there is nothing normal about that and patients would not have the procedure performed if that was the normal. Seek some secondary opinions and ask for a copy of your operative report so the consulting surgeons will know exactly what techniques were used. See examples of typical browlifts results in the link below and in the video above. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
