8 weeks post BBL, is gaining weight afterwards normal?

Hi and great question!I appreciate the time you are spending researching the post-operative recovery of this procedure.I think the most important thing first is to discuss this with your surgeon; he/she will have the best answer for you as they have the best knowledge of what was specifically performed in the operation.Swelling is extremely normal; and I tell patients they need to wear compressive garments around the clock (except when showering) for the first 6 weeks.  Swelling won't start to decrease until the 6 week mark; and will take at least 3 months to completely resolve (for some it takes 6 to 12 months).  If you gained 8lbs that is roughly 32 sticks of butter on your body.  It will be distributed throughout your body.  Weight (fat) does not spot gain or spot reduce (gain or lose fat in only one area).  I hope that helps!  Best of luck!

You need to go to your comfort weight; this is the weight where you typically weigh in at; just go back to being normal so that you can appreciate the results that you are going to have for a long time.
