Scar excision and simple closure works well for non-hypertrophic nose piercing scars. 

Silicone works well for scar tissue, a fact that is proven in clinical trials.   I would recommend a silicone topical in addition to more definitive procedures for the keloid scars.    I recommend the Melarase AM cream for dark discoloration after keloid treatment. 

Hi Kandy.  If insurance does cover the treatments, I would guess it would be under a code for steroid injections.  Often keloid or hypertrophic scars can itch.  This indicates they are growing or changing and you should look for a practice that can do Kenalog injections....
