I have uneven eyebrows my left does not seem to arch as much as my right. I have had this problem for a couple of years now. Would it be easier to lift the left side to match or to have the right side relaxed and lowered? I have spoken to my dermatologist about this and he has mentioned ptosis and that my options could be a brow lift or botox to lower the more arched one. I am also young and honestly do not want to have any invasive surgery on my face. What are all my options of any?

Answer: Botox, Filler or a combination may be the solution Hello. The important issue is to determine why your right eyebrow is more arched, and to fix the cause rather than the effect. This the key to achieving natural-looking results and avoiding looking as if you've had plastic surgery. For this, you need an in-person consultation and full evaluation of your face. If the muscle overactivity is the primary cause, then it's ok to inject a little Botox, Xeomin or Dysport to relax the muscles. However, based on your photos, the underlying cause could be a decreased volume of skin, fat or bone on that side of your forehead, which is making the muscles overactive. I have seen and treated many patients like this with a hyaluronic acid filler. For safety and the best results, it should be injected with a blunt cannula, not a sharp needle. Sometimes a combination of filler with Botox is the best treatment. Based on logical understanding of the possible causes of your brow arching, a brow lift is not the solution.I've included a reference to a book chapter I wrote for Clinics in Plastic Surgery (a textbook for plastic surgeons) that discusses this situation.Hope this helps.Kind regards,Dr. Hema

Answer: A little Botox/Dysport/Xeomin should do it I think that a small bit of either Botos, Dysport or Xeomin should do the trick for you. I would not think of surgery for this. Your assymetry is not uncommon. My 12 year old son has the same thing. Nobody is the same on both sides. Some have one eye more open, one lip tyhinnier etc.
