I received 4 treatments of the Exilis to my lower abdomen. I now have hard nodules and bruising that have never gone away?

Thank you for your question in regards to Exilis treatment. Depending on the time frame since your last treatment it is hard to suggest if bruising is a result from Exilis treatment. Although sometimes patients can develop hard nodules post treatments, its suggested to follow up with your provider. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your question.  Without
knowing how long ago you had these treatments, it is hard to know if these
nodules and bruising are a direct result from Exilis.  It has been my experience that patients will
sometimes feel temporary nodules under the skin, which is called panniculitis
(inflammation of fat).  These have
resolved on their own and patients have been pleased with their results,
especially in the areas where nodules were noted as the significant
inflammation at the location of the nodules results in nice fat resolution.  I would consult with the board certified
dermatologist or plastic surgeon who performed your treatment if this is still
an issue four to six weeks after your first treatment. 

I would discuss it with them but this is likely a normal result and should get better in a few weeks. The bruising sooner. Unless the applicator targeted specific areas creating dents I believe what you are experiencing is the desired breakdown of the fat cells. Some feel quite firm as the break down. I used to tell my patients expect to feel as if there is a bag of frozen peas in your abdomen. Not everyone felt then but those that did seemed to get a better result. Only once did i have someone bruise again I believe it may have been rupture of the fat cell and some bleeding, that patient stated she always bruised with the slightest of trauma. Give it time I think it will be okay in the end there is nothing specific you can do at this time
