I would strongly concur with Dr. Bogdan in his excellent summation. Taping can be useful and was utilized more in the past but generally has fallen out of favor due to it's unpopularity. Consult with your plastic surgeon and follow their recommendations.

It is challenging to correct a narrow nose, but this can be done so with spreader grafts and/or other procedures, however, one needs to see and analyze the patient and should be done by a Rhinoplasty Surgeon.

 The chances are small but some noses will re-deviate but only slightly if at all. It sounds like your surgeon did a good job, so relax and don't worry.  

It is normal to have swelling of the septum after surgery. You should have your surgeon take a look to make sure there is no infection or other problem.
