How can I avoid a stuffy nose and bleeding from aircon at 10 months post-op?

Hi I got my rhinoplasty on April 7th 2018 I’m happy with my results. But my only problem is when I turn the air conditioner on my nose gets abit stuffy. When I wake up in the morning I have a stuffy right nostril with a hardened snot with abit if wet blood on it. I am very paranoid I got my nose done in Thailand and it was a very good place I’m from Australia so I can’t go see the doctor. If you can give me a rough idea what it could be and what I could do maybe to avoid this. Thank you

Hi,It is likely this may well improve with time. If the issue is a concern though, or ongoing I would speak to your surgeon as there may a need an increased sensativity to the lining of the nose after the rhinoplasty, that may need short term medical treatment.Jeremy Hunt

I tell my patients their bedrooms should be made to feel like Florida. Buy a good humidifier, crank it up to full blast and keep it on with the door shut. Much of that dryness comes from you being a nose breather at night and a lot of turbulent flow. I would add a spray like Hydrasense to keep it moist. At the very least, putting a pea-sized amount of vaseline to the nostrils at night will humidify the air as it enters your nose.
