Question

I’m 10 months p/o from TT w/muscle repair. Around 4th mo I developed a hematoma. Dr. cleaned it out & added another drain. Drain was removed by Dr & my stomach was never flat again. He said I’m still recovering .bSonogram was done by my PCP and it’s nothing to drain (4th mo) . Stomach protrudes above vag! I have worn my faja or my stomach wrapped faithfully, watching my diet & lite exercises in gym. Dr. or staff do not return my emails/calls.

It is impossible to give accurate assessment of your condition without in person evaluation. There are few possibilities that can create current condition; thick fat layer on the abdominal wall (may require liposuction) or protrusion of entire abdominal wall due too much fat in your abdomen. Only on the basis of in person evaluation one could create more accurate assessment and suggest plan of treatment. Good luck.

i may be incorrect but i suspect you are carrying too much fat behind your abdominal wall and that is causing your entire abdomen to protrude. It would be very helpful if you provided your height and weight. you don't just have a small area that is protruding, rather it is your entire abdomen so the most likely culprit is too much intra-abdominal fat. The good news is that if you modify your diet (see my web site for more ideas around ketogenic diets etc) and increase your exercising (less important than dieting but doing both is best and fastest), you should definitely be able to decrease your total body fat and you will get your lovely flat abdomen.david berman md
