It is entirely up to you. Most patients who stay in a recovery house are unaccompanied by a close relative, friend, or caregiver who can remain for 7 days following the BBL. My practice provides the services of a LPN who arrives at our certified medical facility some 30 minutes before the patient is fully recovered from anesthesia. She is briefed on all of the post-op medications and guidelines and is paid by the patient to drive him or her to the motel, pick up prescriptions, drive patient to post-op visits, and provide assistance until the plastic surgeon releases the patient to return home. Check with the plastic surgeon who is to perform your BBL to determine if this is an option. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Thank you for your question. I would discuss this with your surgeon and see what he or she thinks is best and why. If you are going to be by yourself during the initial recovery, it would be helpful to stay somewhere where you can be monitored or assisted if needed.Best of luck!
I would speak with your surgeon about their recommendations. It depends how much help you have at the hotel. If you have no caregiver, then certainly you need to stay at the "recovery house." If the "recovery house" is indeed set out to care for your doctors postop patients, staying this location may make the whole process easier and less stressful.
Congratulations on your recent surgery and thank you for sharing your question about your post operative recovery and results after your surgery. Final results can take 6-12 months for all the swelling to subside. At our office here at CARE we actually see all of our surgery patients the very next day after surgery and then again at two weeks and beyond. We enjoy staying closely connected to our patients and enjoy giving the extra attention and service. Your concerns are important to discuss directly with your board certified plastic surgeon. He or she will appreciate the open communication and will want to help you. I hope this is helpful and wish you all the very best. Sincerely, Brian S. Coan, MD, FACS
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question. Everything will depend on you. If you are going to be by yourself it's better to stay at the recovery house, because they will help you with everything. But make sure you look for a good recovery house.Hope this could help and good luck :)
