Is persistent swelling of the tip after two years cause for concern? You mentioned that you have thick skin. With thick skin, tips swelling can take even more than two years to resolve on its own. We use the term “swelling“, but it is really a buildup of scar tissue not technically swelling, Combined with the thick skin. In some cases further thinning of the tip can be achieved with one or more injections of steroid to the tip and supratip area above the tip. You should discuss this option with your surgeon to see if you are a good prospect for steroid injection. If so it would have to be done very carefully since too much can cause dents.
Hi and welcome to our forum! The cartilages of the nasal tip are secured in place with their overlying perichondrium. Much force would be required to displace the nasal cartilages from their anatomic position. There may be a degree of inflammatory swelling (if the manipulation was vigorous)...
This can be used to treat rhinophyma which is a chronic skin condition that causes the nasal tip skin to become bulky and deformed. For normal skin that is thick, this may not be recommended.
