It appeared about 2 years ago and has stayed ever since. It's not a raised bump but feels hard under the skin. to the touch. I hate the dark color of it. What would be my best option to remove it?

After looking at the pictures you provided I would recommend that you go see a dermatologist. That darker lesion has some characteristics that look odd, but it may just be the photo quality. That being said it's better to be safe rather than sorry.
