Thank you for your question and the photo.A pulsed dye laser tuned to 595 nm has a high specificity for the port wine stain. A Nd:YAG laser at 532 nm may work too. Both of these seek out the color red and have a more shallow absorption pattern.I don't recommend the use of an IPL or BBL machine for port wine stains above the hairline because the longer wavelengths included in intended pulsed light will go deeper and risk the possibility of knocking out your hair follicles, aka hair loss.

The pulse dye laser at 595 or v beam is an excellent method to treat port wine stains. You will need several treatments, and your chances of success is v v high. It will NOT affect hair growth. Why?
