I get very deep nasolabial fold when I speak or smile, I don't like them as it makes my face look different & old, especially since I have thin upper lip & when I speak I unconsciously strain my upper lip & I also smile a lot during my speaking My dermatologist said botox is unsuitable since I won't be able to smile if I get botox there. I don't want to get fillers & unsuitable since my lines not there when stationary Can I get botox around the lines to soften it? Many thanks
Answer: Considering options Botox is not helpful for nasolabial folds. If you are not wanting filler you can consider treatments such as FaceTite or Morpheus8. This will help promote collagen production, tighten skin, and improve tone and texture. See a board certified plastic surgeon to learn more.

Answer: Laugh Lines / Nasolabial Folds - Fillers + Sculptra, Lasers like Fraxel/Clear + Brilliant, Radiofrequency, Peels, Skin Care I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine Sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, skin tightening treatments such as Thermage, Fractora, and Renuvion (J Plasma), thread lifting, and peels to get the most conservative, natural look. I suggest seeing a facial sculpting expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Other options Thanks for your question, Tanzmoon. I agree that Botox in this area will not give you the results for which you’re looking. I know you don’t want filler in your nasolabial folds (and I agree it could make you look even heavier in that area), but have you considered filler in the cheeks? That can often help lift the nasolabial fold. You could also look into some barbed, lifting PDO threads. Threads are nice in that there is essentially no downtime with immediate results. I hope this helps. Good luck on your aesthetic journey!

Answer: Energy Based Devices Skin tightening with ultrasound would help lift the skin and reposition fat pads, which helps this concern, we use the UltraFormer device and find results last 6-12 months after one session. The ideal course of action would be dermal filler, you may wish to further research this approach. Botox is not advisable.
