I am very self-conscious about my large philtrum. I have been told that I am not a good candidate much to my discouragement. I’m hoping to get another opinion.

You are an excellent candidate for a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. This takes 1 hour to perform under local anesthesia and costs $4,000.

If you've been told you're not a good candidate, it may be due to factors such as insufficient tooth show, skin laxity, or potential for visible scarring. That said, a second opinion with a board-certified dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon can help explore all your options. Sometimes, alternative procedures or subtle approaches may still offer improvement.
