I'm 48 and wanted correction on my jowl. My Dr. recommended an endotine midface lift. I asked her to include a quote for the lower face and she did, but said she didn't feel I needed the lower lift and would have a good result with just the midface lift. I said I really wanted to do both she again said you don't need it. Now 30 days post I'm very disappointed. My cheeks are lifted, but not much improvement in my jawline and my neck looks worse. When can I have surgery to finish my lower face?

Answer: Revision partial facelift It is always easier to suggest things from a far, but my philosophy of facelift surgery are to address all areas of ageing. In the pre op photo you have I would have performed a full facelift with High SMAS flap and opened your neck. There is no minimum time to wait to get the lower face addressed now.

Answer: Revision facelift for jowling It is imperative that the patient and doctor have clear understanding of the goals of proposed surgery. It is puzzling that your request for correction of jowls was addressed with a mid-facelift. Seek out a talented and experienced facelift surgeon for an in person evaluation. You could consider a lower face-neck lift withing 6 months of your procedure.

Answer: How soon can a revision surgery be done after a partial facelift? = it depends #fb #facelift #lowerface #drmesa Revision surgery after a facelift is generally recommended to be performed after most of the healing process has passed, which is about 1 year. However in certain cases, revision surgery could be performed earlier.Endotine midfacelfit (usually a subperiosteal midface lift) is a associated with prolonged swelling compared with other types of mid facelift. Therefore, revision surgery in these kind of cases shall not be done too soon after the initial surgery.Revision facelift surgery in areas that were not operated before ( eg. lower facelift and neck lift in a subperiosteal facelift) may be addressed with surgery before 1 year after the initial surgery.Patients interested in undergoing revision facelift surgery should discuss a safe timing for the re-opeariong with their primary facelift surgeon.

Answer: Facelift after endotine mid face lift Thanks for sharing. An endotine mid face lift lifts the upper cheek and nasolabial folds. This procedure will not pick up the jowls and neck as a lower facelift does. Although you could have a lower facelift a few months after the endotine safely, it is best to see the long term results of the mid facelift first and then proceed with a lower facelift so that if the mid face needed more pick up it can be done at the same time with the lower facelift. That said, i would recommend waiting at least 6 months to see the results of the mid face and then proceed accordingly with the lower facelift. You have nothing to lose by waiting. Best of luck!

Answer: You should wait at least 6 months to let your face form before you consider revision facelift surgery. Hello PausingtheClock,Thank you for your question.I am uncertain as to the reason a midface lift was offered to fix a jawline problem. A lower face and necklift operation, or a mini-facelift (in certain conditions) is the operation used to improve a jawline. Your problem currently is that swelling from the midface operation follows gravity and settles in your jawline and neck areas for up to 2 months after surgery. You will have to wait until all the swelling is resolved to determine your actual results. Final results from facial surgery can take 6-12 months to manifest. It sounds like the midface lift did what it was supposed to, lift your cheeks. The rest will probably have to be dealt with during a standard facelift procedure.Good luck,Dr. Shah
