I'm getting filler on my cheeks, laugh lines, and crease for my chin. Is this a good filler for these areas? I read it's irreversible. I don't need much besides my cheeks because my face is a bit uneven. I bought the filler last week, I was convinced to buy it. I was told 3 syringes but I'm not sure if that means 2 syringes (3ml) I can start there, let the swelling go down, add more if needed. My plan is .5 for chin crease, each laugh line, 1.5 for cheeks. Does this sound reasonable?
Answer
I routinely used Radiesse, a calcium-based, semipermanent filler, for many years owing to its greater durability with results lasting about two years in certain locations. However, when robust HA fillers came on the market that offered durability of up to two years along with the enormous advantage that they could be dissolved away if necessary or desired, I switched from Radiesse to the exclusive use of these HA fillers. And what better recommendation can a doctor give than to say that these robust HA fillers are what I use to treat myself and my family. Hope this helps.

Maria Eliza7, Radiesse is certainly a good option for cheeks, laugh lines and your chin crease. It is difficult to determine if 3 syringes are reasonable for you without a proper assessment. I would find a provider that you trust to determine the necessary volume of the product in each area, as one cheek or laugh line may not require the same amount of filler as the other. You should clarify with your provider the number of syringes prior to injection, as your cost will be considerably different. 3 Syringes (4.5ml) is not the same as 2 syringes (3ml). Again you should be able to trust your provider with what they recommend for you, and allow them to place the volume of filler where it is needed most. We tend to start small and add as needed to "sneak up " on your best result rather than risk being to aggressive at the start. Hope this helps!

Thank you for sharing your questions. Radiesse is a great, long-lasting product. Care must be taken not too overfill due to the difficulty in removing it. For the areas you mentioned, it might be prudent to first try Restylane which can be dissolved within a minute if you are unhappy . Then, if you like the results you can consider using Radiesse the next time. I hope this helps!

Radiesse treatment is especially good for adding volume to cheeks since it contains calcium hydroxyapatite and can be contoured and shaped after the injection. This allows your technician to mold the treatment to the shape of your cheek, fleshing it out just the way you want it. Since it’s so malleable, this treatment is an excellent choice for facial molding and contouring and can also help to fill in fine lines or wrinkles, as well as enhance facial symmetry.

Radiesse is a great filler for global rejuvenation of the face. Many areas can be treated such as the jawline, chin, cheeks, nasolabial folds, and neck. We also use Radiesse in the hands. For the areas of concern you have mentioned, the three syringes should be adequate. The great thing about Radiesse is that it provides immediate volume and correction while stimulating your body's own collagen at the same time. The collagen stimulation is unique to Radiesse amongst other fillers.

Radiesse treatment is especially good for adding volume to cheeks since it contains calcium hydroxyapatite and can be contoured and shaped after the injection. The trained physician can mold the dermal filler to the shape of your cheeks and mold it out just the way you want it. While 2-3 fillers are recommended for lift and define the cheek area and helping out with the deep laugh lines around the mouth, it is always a good idea to "start small" and slowly add some more filler as needed, rather than overfilling and not receiving the optimal look you are going for. At Laser Touch Medical Clinic, we like to access the area we are working with, take into consideration what the patient's likes and overall result to be; meaning if someone has slimmer features there is no need to overfill to correct certain areas and in turn exaggerate cheekbones that do not compliment the overall facial features, and vice versa.
