I am scheduled to have my Breast Reduction Surgery the day after one of my classes begins and I am wandering if someone drives me if its is realistic for me to go to classes. I would take that first week off but its a summer course and missing even a few days is looked down on. I will just be sitting there listening to the professor.

Answer: Patients can usually resume normal daily activity in a couple of days after breast reduction.
Rheumatoid arthritis itself is not a contraindication to a breast reduction but many of the medications that you may be taking may be more problematic. Some medications cause increased bleeding. Check with your rheumatologist prior to considering the surgery.
No one can give you a specific risk for loss of the areola. Breast measurements factor in as do other medical conditions such as diabetes. Patients who smoke Have greater risk. Previous pregnancies make a difference as well.
