Hello I am 19 and just went in for my consolation to get a breast reduction, the doctor did my measurements and was concerned of the measurement from my nipple to the chest wall (under the breast). Because it was 19 cm he told me that my risk was higher for Necrosis or dead nipple as he explained it. I never got to be told how much higher my risk was I just would like to get an answer to help me in the decision if I should get this done.

Answer: The risk of loss of the areola as a result of breast reduction is affected by many variables.
And having a reduction doesn't prevent you from having fluctuations in your breast size post-op. And if you ever experience marked growth of the breast size, you should see your doctor.
