Thanks for your question. All of the major companies offer a "cohesive gel" of various firmness and cohesiveness (stickiness). The "gummy bear" implants are more cohesive and are considered 5th generation silicone gel. While some of the implants are firmer, this varies between the different companies. Sientra offers the widest spectrum of 5th generation highly cohesive implants in both shaped and round devices. They have an excellent track record and are not overly firm. Share you question with your plastic surgeon and research the different companies to make sure you feel comfortable with your implant choice. Good luck.
All current breast implants are more cohesive than previous implants. Anatomically shaped implants are a bit more cohesive to retain their shape. While cohesiveness is good, too much of a good thing can be bad. The more cohesive the implant the harder and less natural it feels. Balance should be the order of the day
You should realize that if you think about a gummy bear, youare referring to a solid piece of material. No breast implant is a solid piece of material irrespective of whatbrand to utilize. For whatever reason,Sientra implants have been proverbially named the gummy bear implants.I truthly think that all three implantmanufactures make a terrific product.Itend to choose an implant based on a particular patient’s dimensions and needsas opposed to a brand.I wish you thebest of luck.
Totally disagree with the MD below, the highly cohesive gel implant is the 5th gen gel available in the U.S. Sientra has the only full line of gummy bear implants available. Allergan has a partial line and Mentor less. Sientra also has a round form and shaped form. The largest study to date has illustrated an excellent safety and patient satisfaction profile, better than the 4th generation implants. Take a look at the Sientra line, soft yet strong, you owe it to yourself.
Gummy implants are produced by the major US manufacturers. I am not a big fan of them because they are very firm, and are textured.
I am not a fan of the gummy bear, as I find it too firm. The standard silicone implants are cohesive as well. the gummies are more so. But they are too firm feeling. You may want to do some additional research and see a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to feel them and discuss it further.
There is no way to guarantee a particular bra size. Bra sizing varies greatly between bra manufacturers and a C in one bra will be a D in another. What matters more than the assigned bra size is the way the implant looks on you. The best option for your body and aesthetic goals can be determined...
You probably would benefit from having the sutures removed and the wounds cleaned up. Contact your surgeon to address this issue.
Yes. I have patients who scuba dive, kick box and body build and it's safe for them to get back to their sports about six weeks after surgery. The same is true of water skiing. Breast implants are designed to be sturdy, and each manufacturer has its own testing protocol. Allergan tests...
