Yes. I have patients who scuba dive, kick box and body build and it's safe for them to get back to their sports about six weeks after surgery. The same is true of water skiing. Breast implants are designed to be sturdy, and each manufacturer has its own testing protocol. Allergan tests its implants by exerting nearly 55 pounds of forceon them repeatedly, up to 6.5 million times. If you were to smack into the water while you were skiing, it would be unlikely that you'd exert that much force on them.
Yes, once you have healed completely you can water ski after saline breast implants. I have many patients who are incredibly active and are always concerned that they will lose their ability to do the activities they love, or have to modify them, and are always so happy when I tell them they will be able to continue their activities after they have recovered completely. Just make sure you discuss your water skiing with your board certified plastic surgeon and get proper clearance before you resume.
Yes. Most patients can return to light activity (walking and gentle lower body workouts) the first week or so after surgery. Upper body workouts can usually be resumed 3-4 weeks after surgery however it may take an additional 1-2 months to work up to the same level of activity that you were at before surgery.
After breast augmentation has healed, you can participate in any activities that you would have before the surgery.
Do not ski soon after surgery. Limit your activity the first 2 weeks then gradually increase your activity. You should be able to resume strenuous exercise at 6-8 weeks. Best wishes.
I tell my patients that if they are healing well, then they can start light aerobics within 3-4 weeks, and heavy exertion in about 6-8 weeks. This would include water skiing. But everyone is different. Best to discuss with your surgeon.
Once you have healed form surgery, you should be able to water ski (assuming you could water ski before surgery, LOL) or do just about any activity you like. Do ask your surgeon when you are completely cleared for this activity.
You can do anything you wish to do, even sky diving after breast implants, both saline and silicone gel for that matter.
Always best to ask your plastic surgeon about what his restrictions are but in general women with implants, saline or silicone, can participate in nearly every activity including water skiing after they are adequately healed. Good luck to you and search out a board certified plastic surgeon.
The causal relation between leaking/ruptured implants and fatigue and joint pain is mixed, with no firm link having been established. However, if an MRI shows you have leaking or ruptured implants, the recommendation is to remove them. Your symptoms may or may not improve but you may...
I am sorry to hear about your implant exposure. There are many reasons for implants to become exposed. It is unlikely that filling too quickly would be the culprit. It is generally due to poor wound healing, thin skin flaps as a result of the mastectomy, or fluid around the expander. Thank you...
You have a difficult breast shape to start with, so the outcomes will be proportionate to your preoperative anatomy. If you have a reasonable understanding of what to expect that would be important. Your wish picture is not going to accurately depict what you should be expecting....
There's no need to worry. You don’t have to sleep on your back or sit up all night after breast augmentation surgery. You can sleep any way you want from the night of surgery on, including on your stomach or your side, if you are comfortable enough. You won’t pop or displace you...
Most likely this fever is coming from some collapse of the air spaces in your lungs because you are not taking deep enough breaths. If your pain control is inadequate, it will cause you to splint, which does not expand your lungs enough. If there is no redness on your breasts to...
It is almost certainly from the surgery, most likely one of the medications you are taking. It might be from the fact that you are not eating enough. It is not from the silicone. You should definitely not take them out.
