My butt implants have always stayed hard. I went to a board certified surgeon in NY. It’s still hard 5 years later and sometimes if I bend over, or stand a certain way it looks weird. Why is this? This is 5 years post opp ugh

This unnatural “gum drop” effect is extremely common with round buttock implants, especially when bending over, even when placed properly within the gluteus muscles (i.e. intramuscular pocket). This is because the gluteus muscles in most (>95%) humans is oval shaped not round. Thus a round implant is foreshortened relative to the gluteus muscle dimensions and this fact is accentuated when the patient bends over or squats down. A Stanton Anatomic oval shaped buttock implant corrects this problem because it has been created to mimic the anatomic dimensions and natural curves of the gluteus muscles. Your round implants can be removed and replaced with Stanton Anatomic implants +/- any necessary pocket adjustments done at the same time. Finally, Stanton Anatomic implants are made of a very soft silicone rubber that is also durable. Glad to help.

Implants used for gluteal augmentation in the United States or solid silicone rubber.

Your concerns could be due to Mel position or that the implant was not placed in ideal tissue layer.

I’m going to guess that it’s a little too close to the skin surface and perhaps it needs to be repositioned to be intra-muscular.

Most plastic surgeons don’t offer gluteal implants.

In your case I would highly encourage you to follow up with your plastic surgeon who did the augmentation.
