I had tumescent liposuction 3 days ago. I was given oxycodone, ambien, and ativan on the day on the procedure. I was very drugged, but during the procedure, I was in quite a bit of pain. It was almost unbearable, but I made it through. I remember repetitively looking at the heart rate monitor and my heart rate was around 130bpm the whole time (resting HR 85-90bpm).So my question: was my heat rate elevated from the pain, or could it have been elevated from the epinephrine in the tumescent fluid?

Answer: Ambien is NOT an anesthetic drug! Where on Earth did you have surgery??????? This is a Family Doctor
Hopefully the fluffy nontender side was treated in surgery. You can ask your surgeon how much fat was removed from each side. Sometimes with liposuction, the bruising shows up a few days later. Hopefully, in a few more weeks, you will be more even.
You will need to wait to see how that area does. It may be quite swollen for now. I let my patients ride stationary bikes when they feel comfortable to do so.
The skin redrapes fairly quickly, especially when compression garments are worn. Excess fluid build-up can interfere with that and exercise in the involved areas too early can also interfere.
