Hi, I'm planning to go for PRP treatment, and I have read that the kit brand is an important factor for the treatment's success. May I get a recommended kit brand, and If I can get a review on the kit appears in the attached photo. Thank you.
Answer: Double Spin PRP provides the highest concentration of growth factors and platelets I am not familiar with the PRP brand in your question; however, it appears to be a single spin brand. Across the board, double spin methods produce significantly higher quality PRP with higher concentrations of growth factors and platelets. In addition, the CD 34 markers in double spin PRP are significantly higher. CD 34 is important because it is a marker for stem cell signaling capacity. You need to be certain that whatever PRP kit is used (in the U.S.A.), that it is FDA approved. I personally prefer Harvest PRP; however, Magellan is also an excellent option.

Answer: PRP kits; ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS NJ The kit displayed by the label in your communication is a single spin PRP kit. The instructions to not facilitate removing the platelet poor plasma and therefore the concentration is probably 1 to 2%. I do not see a serum separator and therefore do not know the red and white blood cell count. Almost every country has their own variety of kits. In the US, I like the Eclipse single spin kits. I would try to find a kit that has four to five times concentration and does not have red or white blood cells. Find a PRP expert and ask to see photos.PRPHAIRMD.COM

Answer: Real PRP is expensive! I have used several brands, but the results I obtain have been significantly better with Angel machine, Arthrex, kits are on the more expensive side but it is worth the extra cost when you know your PRP has a lower concentration of WBC, RBC, and you can adjust the desired concentration of platelets.

Answer: Which PRP kit is the best? I honestly don't think we have the data to answer this question. The ideal platelet rich plasma has 5-7 x the concentration of platelets in whole blood. Higher concentrations are associated with: platelet-derived growth factortransforming growth factor betafibroblast growth factorinsulin-like growth factor 1insulin-like growth factor 2vascular endothelial growth factorepidermal growth factorInterleukin 8keratinocyte growth factorconnective tissue growth factor All of which contribute to healing injured tendons, rejuvenating lost collagen, and helping with pain from loss of cartilage and arthritis. Answer: PRP Kits Thank you for your question. It is best to use a PRP kit that is a double spin kit and able to reach platelet concentrations 6-8 times the concentration in whole blood. The kit you displayed will concentrate platelets 1-2 times the concentration in whole blood. The kit should be FDA cleared as well. There are several kits that meet this criteria. The volume of blood drawn is important as well. In order to obtain higher concentrations of PRP in significant quantity will require 30 to 60 cc of whole blood to be drawn and processed. We use the Emcyte kits.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
