Can I take Prednisone following a face lift? (Photo)

As my colleagues have said, you need to speak to your surgeon for his or her recommendations. In my practice, all my patients take prednisolone during the peri and postoperative period.

Before preceding with a facelift a complete medical history and physical examination, including laboratory studies and EKG should be performed. If passed then it is typically safe to undergo the procedure even with a history of asthma and Prednisone use that you have provided.Short dosages of medications like Prednisone is commonly provided to patients in my practice to hasten the resolution of swelling after a facelift procedure, if their medical history shows no contraindication. The dose and duration does not effect wound healing.  I hope this helps.

There should not be a problem taking a short course of Prednisone for asthma following a facelift.  Ideally, you should check with your own surgeon as he or she is responsible for your care.  

I would have no problem with you taking the prednisone for your medical issues after a facelift. This specific question should however be answered by your own surgeon.
