Hello Heatheroma33,First of all, thank you for your question and photo. As previously stated, "foot-printing" can occur after ResurFX but can be addressed with IPL. If left alone, it is expected to lighten with time. You can also use some bleaching agents as well. I hope this helps!
Hi Heather! Thanks for inquiring about Lumenis M22, ResurFX treatments. I teach for Lumenis and we use this equipment everyday in the office. We generally offer this non-ablative laser in combination with Intense Pulsed Light in a series of at least 3 treatments about a month apart each (same platform) so that the "foot-printing" shown in your picture is less likely. The IPL helps blend and lighten the pigmented and vascular lesions that almost everyone has on their face after we have lived a few years and/or been exposed to female hormones. It is important that the technician or doc doing your treatment is meticulous about aligning the applications to form an even treatment, or you can get temporary footprints like your picture shows. We have all had an occasional skip area that we needed to fill in during a future visit or treatment.Over time, and hopefully more treatments, the darker and lighter areas will blend and pretty much go away and the results will be fine, but they can be concerning if you have never experienced this technology.I hope that helps and that your spots are already blending. Meantime, please apply a good sunblock frequently to avoid further darkening of the treated areas.Best, Z
Given your skin type, this is common, and can be seen with any Non ablative- ablative- RF- energy device. The good news is that with SPF and time, together with HQ things will improve in the next 8 weeks. Sun protection is vital. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
