You should check with your surgeon, but being only 3 days postoperative it is typical for the tip to drop at least a bit as the swelling subsides.
Hi and thanks for the question. The swelling at the bottom of the nose plus the tape can make the nose appear more lifted for the first few days after surgery. It should drop as the swelling diminishes and the tape is removed. The tip may continue to drop for a few weeks after surgery. If it still looks upturned three weeks from now, bring up your concerns with your surgeon.Best wishes for your recovery!Dr. Mehta
It would be best for you to follow up with your surgeon and asked these questions. Three days after surgery you are at the peak of swelling. The tape and cast on your nose is also affecting its appearance . Swelling in revision rhinoplasty takes longer to resolve then in primary rhinoplasty. Your nose will start looking normal in appearance after about 4 to 6 weeks. You will then notice changes in your nose’s appearance over the next 12 months and even beyond that. The positioning of your tip depends on the technique used in surgery and the healing process. I wish you the best. Dr. Ardeshirpour
