Question

I’m wondering if I can still bide more time (as surgical procedures won’t be an option for me for another two years) with fillers to improve my jawline and if Botox can lift my smile a bit. Would be curious to know which fillers, if any, a doctor would recommend (I can’t remember the filler we used previously but it did seem to have pretty good results for about 2 years).

A Robust HA Volumizing filler can work well for not only shaping a contouring the cheeks into a more pleasing Ogee Curve and oval feminine face, but would also secondarily help to improve the hollows and tear troughs under the eyes as well as improve the smile lines. A robust HA contouring filler fanned in the area of the posterior angle of the jaw would help to better define the jawline and diminish jowls. An HA lifting filler can elevate and straighten the downturned angles of the mouth (marionette lines). And finally, a nonsurgical filler necklift combining an HA lifting filler and HA skinbooster./biomodulator can tighten the neck and diminish the vertical bands. As aging progresses, two main changes typically appear on the face: sagging and volume loss. This occurs because collagen production decreases and skin elasticity diminishes over time, causing the skin to droop. At the same time, facial fat gradually shifts downward. In particular, the volume in the midface diminishes, while fat collects toward the jawline, making the lower face appear heavier.
To address these changes, lifting procedures are commonly performed to physically reposition and tighten sagging skin. This is distinctly different from simply filling hollow areas with fillers. While fillers can restore some volume and create the appearance of mild lifting, their ability to improve true skin laxity is limited.
Considering your current skin condition, rather than expecting significant lifting results with fillers alone, face and neck lifting would be more effective in repositioning sagging tissues. This approach can help create a more defined jawline and a fresher, rejuvenated appearance overall.

Yes, you can definitely continue to improve your jawline and jowls with fillers until you are ready for a surgical procedure. Many patients repeat filler treatments every 1–2 years to maintain lift and contour in this area.

For jowl support and jawline definition, I often recommend:

Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lyft for volume and structural support along the jawline.

Radiesse, a calcium-based filler that provides both immediate lift and stimulates collagen over time, can also be a great option for longer-lasting firmness.

Regarding lifting the corners of your smile, Botox can help relax the depressor anguli oris muscles that pull the mouth downward, creating a subtle lifting effect. This is a common combination approach: fillers to restore volume and Botox to soften downward pull.

Since you had good results before, you’d likely respond well again to similar products. If you’re unsure which filler you previously used, your provider can often tell by reviewing your prior records or assessing the tissue feel during consultation.

A face and neck lift will give you the best option, but you may be able to "buy some time" with a combination of other treatments.  Botox and fillers can help to lift and sculpt this area.  You can also consider FaceTite to tighten the skin of the lower face and neck.  This is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require general anesthesia.
