I have very Weak facial bone structure especially in the cheekbone area. When I pinch the area very close to beneath my eye and pull simulating an implant there, my face improves a lot.The closer to the edge of my bone (closer to the eye) I pull out the better. Also it pulls my eyes down slightly making them look more awake and large. Would this occur if I used a vertically large implant placed close to the edge of the bone? Thankyou so much for your help.

Answer: How close/high can cheek bone implants be placed to the edge of eye socket? Cheek implants are manufactured in a large variety of sizes and shapes which must be determined at the time of the consultation and examination, since both the implants and the cheeks are three-dimensional structures. Cheek implants cannot be placed directly along the edge of the eye socket due to the fact that there the infra-orbital nerve in that location which gives sensation in the midportion of the cheek in that area. Cheek implants are usually placed under brief general anesthetic through an intraoral approach directly over the maxilla to give added projection and fullness to the mid-face. For more information, diagrams of the implants themselves, and many before-and-after examples, please see the link and the video below

Answer: How close/high can cheek bone implants be placed to the edge of eye socket? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, over the past 30 years, using dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek implants, chin implants, lip implants), liposuction and/or facelifts. To specifically answer your question, silastic cheek implants are placed at approximately 4mm's below the infraorbital rim (lower edge of the eye socket). As described below proper placement of the correct shaped and sized implant all contribute to creating a more handsome face. Looking at your photos, your cheeks are very flat, there is some excess fat in the lower face, the chin is weak as are the mandibular angles (both of which are better evaluated with a non smiling profile photo). This combines to create an elongated oval shaped face. Based upon my facial beauty principles, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. The following procedures would create a more ruggedly handsome face. Cheek augmentation with cheek implants to add angularity to the cheeks and mid face. This would be combined with liposuction to reduce the excess facial fat to further define the cheek shape. Chin augmentation, using a chin implant, to add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick and highly effective. Augmentation of the mandibular angles using a dermal filler (jaw implants have too many unwanted side effects IMHO) to add volume, angularity and flare to the jaw line. Hope this helps.
