I have high, protruding cheekbones and low body weight, so I always had a "sculpted" area where my buccal fat is. But after scar surgery, which included fat grafting, my face is a chipmunk shape. Would buccal fat removal help put my face back to normal, even though there was little buccal fat to begin with?? I understand that surgeons cannot put fat back into the buccal area if fat has been removed, but I wonder if that has more to do with scarring from surgery, rather than changing something natural. Could fat grafting have added to my buccal fat?

After a facelift, patients may still benefit from botox, fillers and other skin treatments. Botox of the masseter helps to slim the lower outer check in patients that have a hyperactive masseter muscle or grind their teeth. Filler to the malar upper check region helps with volume and asymmetry...
So I don't clearly see any asymmetry and for what it's worth. That's a very difficult thing to improve.
A round face in a young patient seems a common complaint at the moment. Due to media exposure, I receive a significant number of enquiries for buccal fat removal surgery.

Buccal fat when removing it can naturally thin the cheeks, however sometimes the structure of the skull does not allow the results to be very noticeable. In summary, it is very likely that if you have a bichectomy, your result will be very subtle.
