I had IPL on my face, chest and forearms. The nurse said she didn't change the settings on the laser but my arms burned badly. It's been a year. Is there anything I can use to help the appearance of my arms?

The best way I have found to correct IPL striping is witht he Sciton BBL in HERO mode. Its Scitons version of IPL but in motion and does a great job correcting striping from a stamping technique

First off, so sorry that you had this experience. IPL is often seen as an uncomplicated 'spa' type treatment and delegated to staff with less experience, but in truth requires more experience than pretty much any other laser treatment and is very easy to get wrong, especially on the body. It's a shame, because when done well it can offer amazing rejuvenation.

The skin on your arms is much thinner than your face and usually requires gentler settings, especially if there is sun damage present. At this point, I'd recommend you seek out the very best laser office in your area. Sciton (you can find providers at Sciton.com) has very high quality, pricey systems and the offices that choose to buy them tend to place quality first. As scary as it may be, the best bet for making your arms look more even would be to gently treat the areas which were skipped to remove the sun damage there and blend the color. In person, there may be a few more possible options which become apparent. Wishing you the best.
