I’ve had a white crown fitted on a rear molar and it has had to be ground down so much to fit, that the metal part of the crown has been exposed. It now looks like a tooth that’s had a silver filling which defeats haveing a white crown fitted in the first place. Can I expect it to be replaced with a new one.

Hi:Normally silver crowns are temporary. However, there are metal crowns that look like silver crowns as well that are permanent. Its best to go to a dentist and have it removed.Best,Dr. Maddahi
Hi:Dry Socket is due to infection in the extraction site, it has nothing to do with left over cement. Cement usually causes inflamation, once removed it should heal and go back to normal.Best,Dr. Maddahi.
