Entire face covered in scars after HydraFacial? (Photo)

Question

I loved the results, I began to fell some peeling and lumpiness. Have downlights in my bathroom & saw this texture to my skin. Like severe acne scarring across my whole face. I have a few scars from picking & scar in corner of mouth, otherwise my skin is great. Have they scarred me from the tool they use? They run across my face in stripes, criss cross motions, compressions. I don't know what they use on the skin: hard plastic tube with suction abilities and then ability to deposit product?

Hello and thank you for your question and pictures. It is possible that you either had an allergic reaction or a higher grade abrasive tip was used on your sensitive skin. I would recommend you use gentle and calming products and daily use of SPF. If condition does not improve or worsens, seek advice from a board certified dermatologist in your area. Best of luck.

Thanks for your question. It looks as though the GlySal 30 was used. It has 30% Glycolic Acid which can make the face swell. Avoid strong creams and serums for 2 weeks until the skin calms down. Only use mild, fragrance free products to help calm the skin down. Hope this helps!

I'm not certain the time frame involved with your problem. Did you take the photos a day later, a week later, a month later? If it was a short time later, then the lines should have resolved from now. There would be only two reasons why you would have had such a result. First, everyone's skin is different and responds differently to treatment. You probably have very sensitive skin that responded in such as way that would be considered unusual. If the suction was too high, it could have resulted in such a reaction, but would resolve with time. You also could have had an allergic reaction to the serum used or you could have simply been extra sensitive instead of having an allergy. With either case, yor symptoms would have improved as time passed. I don't think that you will have any permanent residuals. I would advise you to contact the clinic that did your hydrafacial to let them know because the Hydrafacial procedure is usually very helpful in restoring hydration to your skin. They will have a record of what was done and can go back and look in order to make a determination of making necessary changes so it doesn't happen to you again. Best of luck.
