Kybella: 3 months later, and still swollen from baseline. Have you seen this? What are my options?

thank you.  For your question. While KyBella typically has swelling that lasts 4 to 6 weeks, three months might be slightly excessive. The reaction that is occurring with Kybella will subside. I would not worry that this is going to be a permanent change. As long as it is still hard and still slightly tender, this indicates that the product is working. Consult with your physician. 

I am so sorry that you are experiencing excessive post injection swelling. I would definitely have your surgeon file a report with Allergan. However, I wouldn't worry about this being permanent. As long as the area is still hard to the touch then the Kybella is working. Your body is just taking longer to process than average. 

Thank you for your question.  Sorry about this complication.  Kybella is a very safe product, but there is always a risk of an adverse reaction to anything.  I would recommend that you contact the injecting physician and ask them to file an adverse reaction report with Allergan, the maker of Kybella, BOTOX and the Juvederm products.  Anytime there is something this unusual, the manufacturer wants to know about it and will the physician some additional recommendations.  Best of luck and keep us posted.
