Does a rhinoplasty to get a lower nose bridge sometimes result in ending up with epicanthic folds? (photo)

Hi - Changing the dorsum (nasal bridge) whether you are bringing it down to be smooth or with a slight slope, it should not affect the medial webs of the eyes. When you reduce a hump during rhinoplasty it can give the illusion that the nose is longer, but if you don't undergo a blepharoplasty, this will not bring your epicanthal folds back.

Hello and thank you for your question. Lowering your dorsal hump will not cause epicanthal folds. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Fascial grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. Dorsal hunp reduction can also be performed at the same time. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result.
