I have a caudal septal deflection. My surgeon recommends an "open" septoplasty with a "w" incision, instead of closed septoplasty surgery. Is this a reasonable request for a better outcome?

Answer: Rhinoplasty and septoplasty are two completely separate operations
Following your surgery, you should plan to take it as
easy as possible for at least the first week of recovery. After this time, you
can slowly start resuming your normal routine. That being said, you should be approved
to go to Boston for the weekend as you have passed this minimum time frame...
The answer is "yes". All that work that you describe can be done without septoplasty. Concavities can be filled with crushed lateral crura from the alar cartilages..
