I had lower blepharoplasty 8 weeks ago. I also had excess skin removed. I know I still have swelling but it seems to settle and form these bags. I never had this before surgery. In the morning when I wake up my eyes look great, skin is smooth, but as the day wears on gravity seems to take over and I get these bags. Some days are better than others. Today is a bad day. They are very prominent. I don't see my PS for another month but I am starting to worry that I may have made a mistake!
Answer: Post lower lid surgery YOu have some swelling right at the lid/cheek junction and in the malar fat pad. This can occur after a lower lid bleph in some people. with time it usually resolves. If it persists, then some deep ultrasound or radiofrequency can help to tighten up the area. Unfortunately it can persist for several months.

Answer: Malar swelling after Blepharoplasty. If you did not have swelling in this area before surgery and if it is not there all the time, I suspect that it is temporary and should stabilize in time. The eyelids are susceptible to intermittent swelling after surgery. Other influences are sinus congestion, allergies, fatigue and high salt in your diet among other things. Avoiding or controlling these influences in addition to intermittent icing may be helpful until it stabilizes. This could take 3-6 months.

Answer: This does appear to be residual swelling. Do have any history of lower eyelid hyaluronic acid fillers? This can stay in the lower eyelid for years and will affect how the eyelid hold water. This appearance is consistent with retained filler holding fluid in this space. The treatment for this is to enzyme the old filler out to release the extra bit of swelling that is being held there by old product. If there is not filler, give this more time to heal. If it persists, something more will need to be done to address this because the result is not acceptable.

Answer: Are these malar bags or festoons or just swelling after lower blepharoplasty? Swelling with string is seen. Try cold compresses, hydroquinone 8% cream. Sometimes Thermi Smooth 250 RF sessions help.

Answer: Bags after blepharoplasty Sometimes the eyes take a very long time to finish healing. The skin around the lower eyelid is particularly thin so any small amount of bruising and swelling can be visible. I would call your plastic surgeon and try to move up your appointment. I am sure that she/he would be happy to see you sooner to help relieve your concerns. Best of luck!
