2 weeks post ThermiTight (and Lipo) should my skin be tightening more? (photos)

 We’d all love to have instant results, but our bodies can’t really comply! You still have swelling after your liposuction, and Thermi takes some time to tighten the skin. You should start seeing a difference in a couple of months. However, your full results might not be visible for 6 months. Please be a patient patient until then, but consult with your board-certified dermatologist if you haven’t seen a beautiful improvement by that time.

Thermi procedures work by denaturing the collagen (this is what gives structure to the skin). This only starts the process. The real effect comes from your body remodeling and tightening the collagen and therefore the skin.   Inpatients is normal but it will take 6 months or more to get the full benefit.  

Yes you are being impatient!  But who wouldn’t be!!  There in any form takes 6-9 months to reach its full benefit. Just keep telling yourself “fix it fast, it won’t last. Take your time, last all time”. Best wishes

You would not be expected to see much difference at this point. I generally counseled patient's that they will see a difference at one month, most of the final result by 6 months, and still have some minimal changes until one year.

Dear ty gee:Thanks for sharing your photos! In general, it takes: 3 to 6 weeks for swelling to diminish; 3 months to maximal scar thickening and lumpiness; and 3 to 12 months or longer for the healing to “remodel”, ie thin and firm. Liposuction primarily removes the fat and diminishes volume. ThermiTight is oriented toward maximal skin tightening. Both, stimulate the inflammatory process to produce collagen (scar) and tighten at the fat and skin levels. You are too early in the process to realize optimal reduction and tightening. Ask your surgeon about the process so you may better understand when to expect your best results. I wish you the best!

At only 2 weeks after liposuction and ThermiTight you will not be at your end result. The treatment causes a good deal swelling which will take a few weeks to show improvement. The results from ThermiTight will take longer (2-3 months or even longer) to become evident. This procedure is a collagen stimulator and these results take time. Best of luck, Dr. M
