muscle plication as a revision? Should I expect the " bulge" to be resolved after revision? Will this be successful?

I had hernia repair and tummy tuck one year ago. Still have muscle separation/ Diastasis recti in upper belly, which still bulges out above lower. My PS confirmed this. Is offering to re-do plication in upper belly with another, smaller incision above belly button. Can this still be done successfully without re doing entire tummy tuck surgery?

Yes it is feasible to repeat a muscle plication without revising the entire abdominoplasty as long as there is not recurrent skin laxity. Good luck!

There are many reasons for persistent buldging after hernia repair and tummy tuck.  A revision, as advised, may be successful.  Before proceeding, make sure to have your evaluation and surgery performed by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon from the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
