Thank you for your question.  Yes, it is possible to add volume, but this must be done in an operating room type of setting because it requires a small operation to get down to the implant and the fill port.  It puts you at risk for popping the implant or getting an implant infection.  You should discuss this thoroughly with your surgeon.  Best of luck.

Adding fluid to a saline implant is a relatively simple procedure.  Under sterile conditions, usually in an operating room but quite often requiring only local anesthesia, a periareolar incision is made and dissection is carried down to the top of the implant.Saline implants are made in such a way that the valve is supposed to be on top on the round portion of the implant, and the flat surface on the bottom.  This configuration allows your surgeon to sterilely pull back the valve plug, insert a saline fill tube, draw back just slightly to decrease the chance of any air entering into the implant, and then place the desired amount of fluid into the implant, remove the fill tube, replug the opening, and close the incision sterilely.  The short answer to your question is YES, it can be done as long as the pocket is large enough to accept the extra fluid without causing any distortion or creating a hard breast.At this point, it is time for you to contact the surgeon who performed the surgery and ask for his or her opinion and be guided by their expertise.

You can add more volume to a saline implant, but it requires surgery to go back in and fill it.  However, you should see your plastic surgeon in consultation.  The difference you are seeing may be due to something else.  Address your concerns with your surgeon in person so they can examine you and discuss your options.

Typical saline implants cannot be refilled and would need to be exchanged in order to adjust the size. There are expander-implants out there than can be adjusted but they are generally used in reconstruction and you would know if that's what you have.
