Answer: Delayed healing T-point wounds (where the vertical and horizontal incisions meet) are not uncommon post lift. This is a water shed area for vascularity and may exhibit delayed healing. This may take several weeks to heal. The best advice is to follow the recommendations of your operating surgeon. As always, discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS)

Answer: Breast lift incision Dear penayuri, this type of wound is not uncommon after breast lift. It is usually caused by poor blood flow. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon, follow your surgeon's instructions and keep your wound clean and covered. It can take few weeks or months for wound to fully heal. Answer: I'm 1 month post breast lift. I have discharge from open incisions under my breast is this normal? Hello! Thank you for your question! Wounds are never expected after a surgical procedure, but are not uncommon. Your photos show that you have a wonderful ne at the area that would be the most prone to this - at the ‘T’-junction. This is due to the fact that the three areas converge there, is the farthest from the blood supply, and these small flaps have the most tension. I agree that keeping the area clean is important. However, I would follow-up for wound care instructions. There is a possibility that debridement or wound closure would be necessary if infection or worsening develop. Hope that this his helps. Best wishes!

Answer: Delayed healing after breast lift Hi and welcome to our forum!During the procedure of breast lift, the skin and soft tissues of the breast are lifted from underlying structures. The skin and soft tissue the farthest from the blood supply (at the inverted "T" junction) is more susceptible to infection and tissue loss, especially if the patient is a smoker, has circulatory problems, or is anemic. The photo provided appears to demonstrate areas of healing delay with multiple open wounds, and surrounding redness. Your history of foul smelling drainage suggests the presence of infection. You note that you "spoke" to your surgeon. Was this by telephone? When did he / she last see you? I recommend that you undergo an evaluation by your surgeon as soon as feasible (if not already recently seen). With care, this should heal uneventfully.Best wishes...
