Which filler is thicker for your lips Juvéderm erm Volbella or Juvéderm ultra plus?

Question

I want to get my lips filled in and I want them the fullest I can get them with one syringe, is one thicker then the other? What is the difference between the two, is one more suggested than the other? I’m really stuck between the two.

Juvederm Ultra Plus will give you fuller results. Both are made from Juvederm. Volbella is a thinner filler and is good for providing subtle volume or improving fine lines while Ultra Plus is thicker and will plump the lips more. I recommend injections with cannulas to limit bruising. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Juvederm ultra plus is not indicated for lips. Volbella is. Great product. Be happy to inject. The other filler that FDA approved for lips is Restylane great product as well. Volbella lasts longer.

Both Juvederm and Volbella will do the job but what will determine your choice is what type of outcome you want to achieve. Volbella is a very soft filler, comes in a 0.55 ml syringe and will give some plumping to the lips. Juvederm is a thicker filler, comes in 1.0 ml and if you are looking to accentuate the lip line and get a more pronounce cupids bow then this is the filler for you.
We have recently been using Allergans new filler Vollure in the lips because it is a mixture of both products above. Soft to the touch, easy to inject so less bruising and 18 month duration. Beautiful product for lips.

If your looking for fuller lips go with Juvederm’s Ultra Plus. It is a 1 cc syringe and is the most volumizing of the lip fillers. Your primary concern is the skill set of the injector, ask for before and after photos. All hylaronic fillers have water loving (hydrophilic) tendencies, and the good news is you can see the results immediately.

One difference between Volbella and Juvederm Ultra Plus is the syringe size. Volbella syringes are currently only available in .55 cc, while Juvederm Ultra Plus syringes are 1 cc. Volbella is a softer product than Juvederm Ultra Plus, but provides nice subtle plumping. Ultra Plus would be better if you need more structure in your lip. Without seeing pictures and knowing a little more about your cosmetic goals, it's hard to recommend one product over another. You should consult with an experience injector who can properly evaluate your lips to recommend the right product for your goals. Good luck!

Juvederm Ultra and UltraPlus should give you more augmentation/volume then Juvederm Volbella which gives a more subtle but natural looking enhancement. I also like Restylane and Restylane Silk when treating the lips.

Hi,To specifically answer your question, Juvederm Ultra Plus is has the highest G' (measurement of "thickness"). Most providers have experience using different fillers and I recommend finding one that you like and listening to their recommendation. Juvederm Ultra plus is thicker and gives more fullness that others. It might feel stiff in the lips and I recommend getting 2 syringes of Juvederm Ultra one month apart for more natural result.  Hope this helps.
