I have well controlled epilepsy (<1 episode/yr average), is it safe to have the EmSculpt procedure?
Answer: Emsculpt in well controlled Epilepsy Epilepsy is a still as a listed contraindication on the consent form. Proceeding would require clearance from your treating epilepsy physician and the medical director at the site you hope to obtain the service and obtaining both will be an uphill battle and would require at an minimum additional informed consent information. Unfortunately alternatives such as Cutera’s TruSculpt flex also list epilepsy as a contraindication. Overall, personally I would defer to the manufactures (BTL) recommendation and an abundance of caution as I’m not certain the benefits would outweigh the risks.
