Hi Intuitive,It is okay to have Emsculpt when breastfeeding, it does not affect your breasts or milk whatsoever. Emsculpt does help build the abdominal muscles and decrease diastasic recti. Good luck and stay well there in NYC. Dr. P
EMSculpt is just causing hypercontractions of the muscle, and building that muscle, so there is no contraindication with breastfeeding. That would be like saying you can't workout if you are breastfeeding. It's perfectly safe.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa
EmSculpt has not been studied for patients who are breastfeeding. The risk is for people who have just given birth as the body needs time to heal. EmSculpt does help for patients who have Diastasis Recti as a result of their pregnancy.
Hello Intuitive7540:Thanks for your great question. EmSculpt actually is contraindicated while pregnant or breastfeeding. The concern with breastfeeding is that you might have a higher level of lactic acidosis in the blood temporarily after the treatment. Because of the number and strength of these supramaximal contractions, the level may be higher than it is with exercise, and the effect of this on the infant has not been studied. There is a method, however, of expressing milk that may be high in lactic acid after a treatment. So there should be a work-around. In your case I think you’re fat layers will hide the results and you will find it to be a waste of money. Considering the results are relatively subtle and show best on those who have exposed muscles this is probably not the best option. It’s also a temporary result so for those who are good can...
Dear scgreen1223:Primarily for the sake of your own comfort, you will want to wait a month after Cellfina to have Emsculpt.Sheryl Clark MD FAAD
