Can someone with Dermatographia (skin writing) get lip injections?

Question

I got a tattoo and realized I’m allergic to permanent marker and sought treatment and realized I have Dermatographia. I do have other tattoos that a marker wasn’t used to outline it and I was fine but I'm scared to get my lips done thinking my body won’t accept it.

you should be able to get lip fillers wvwn if you have dermatographia. If you are considering a treatment, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

yes those with dermatographism can get fillers, i would suggest medrol pack before and daily hydration and plumping (see emeragecosmetics essentials kit) after. everyone can do a little filler when done well really gives nice hydration and plumping.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thanks for the question. You should be able to get lip filler with a prior history of allergy to dermatographia. Skin allergy to dermatographia does not imply an allergy to lip injections. Dermal fillers like injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) are well tolerated as HA is a normal component of the body’s connective tissue. I would recommend you to consult an experienced facial plastic surgeon, if you are considering a dermal filler treatment. The surgeon will choose the best suited treatment after a detailed physical examination.I hope this helps. Best wishes.

Your body will not reject HA fillers.

HA is part of the human body and people do not have allergic reactions to it.
