Will using clobetasol on my scalp a day after receiving PRP injections for hair loss affect my results?

We regularly use clobetasol in patients that are receiving PRP treatment. An inflammatory component to hair loss is present in a large number of people and clobetasol is used as an adjunct treatment. This shouldn't negatively impact your results, but I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol for using clobetasol after prp. Prp is effective, but it can take up to 6 months to see results. I have a very specific protocol, every 3-4 weeks for 6 months with prp therapy.  I also add in progesterone to speed the healing process.  After that the injections are tailored down.  You should also be on viviscal and other growth promoting ingredients. Best, Dr. Emer

It is not routine to ask a patient to apply clobetasol after PRP. It is unclear if the steroids will influence the action of PRP. I would imagine that the PRP may be less effective as clobetasol reduces the immune response. You should ask your provider which type of PRP was used and if your provider thinks there will be an impact. Best of luck!
