I always tell my patients, if a facial feels good for you torelax, get it. If you are actuallytrying to improve your skin in the long term, do Dermapen instead. You know when you go on a trip and you get afacial, you glow that day, then go back to looking normal the day after. After Dermapen, you glow for a month and getlong-lasting collagen production. You can get Dermapen (or microneedling) with blood or spundown blood to isoloate the PRP (platelet rich plasma). This boosts the efficacy of microneedling bypenetrating your own growth factors deep into your skin, again, causing morecollagen production and lon-lasting benefits for your skin. I prefer PRP over blood because we haveisolated the growth factor portion of the blood to use in the treatment. You can expect improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and a long-lasting glow. Personally, Ilove this treatment and try to get it done every couple of months. You will be addicted too. Promise!
Hello badang31,My name is Melanie I am a Medical Aesthetician at Aesthetic Skin located in Chicago, IL. This is a great question! Yes, it is completely safe to receive a facial, just remember to discontinue use of the tretinoin 72 hours prior to your facial appointment. I hope this helps! Please feel free to contact our office directly should you have further questions and to book a virtual or in person consultation 312-944-0117. We look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you for your question! Be sure to make your esthetician aware that you are using Tretinoin before receiving any type of facial or extraction. From there your esthetician should be able to use products that are appropriate for your skin. Always make sure you are getting treatments done by a trained esthetician! For more information please feel free to look at our website!
There is no major problem doing extractions with a facial while on tretinoin, although the skin will be a little more sensitive during the procedure and a little slower to heal. Ideally I'd stop the tretinoin 3-5 days beforehand, and restart 3-5 days afterwards.
Many people who get facials are also on tretinoin as this medication helps loosen the plug in the pores. As long as the person performing the extractions is properly trained and aware that you are on this medication it should be safe. It's best to ask the person performing the procedure their preference. There is a slight, increased risk of skin irritation while on this medication.
Tretinoin cream helps soften comedones in clogged pores. If done carefully by a trained aesthetician, extractions can be safely performed. Just mention that you are using tretinoin cream.
