Can I have a facial after receiving Botox injections?

Question

I get Botox done on my forehead for wrinkles. I also have acne in the area. Would doing a facial where they perform pimple extractions dislodge the Botox? Thank you in advance.

Generally its best to wait at least 2 weeks because you don't want to manipulate the filler to move for best results as some injections take 2 weeks to settle.

You are completely safe to get a facial with extractions after forehead Botox, as long as basic timing guidelines are followed.o be extra safe, follow standard post-Botox timing guidelines: You can safely do extractions after: 24–48 hours. (Most providers say 24 hours is enough. Some prefer 48 hours for very cautious patients.). Avoid extractions: The same day as injections.Within the first 4 hours after Botox (don’t lie face-down on a facial bed during that period).  After that, you're good.

We normally recommend patients wait at least 3-4 days after getting Botox to have a facial done by a medical esthetician. At that point, the Botox is no longer going to migrate and the facial should not have any significant impact on the Botox outcome.

One of the recommendations after getting Botox injections is avoiding lying down for 4 hours. You can have facials done just before your Botox treatment, but if you choose to have it done after, I recommend you to wait at least one week; this way, Botox's migration can be prevented, and you can get the expected result. Having a facial done right away after your Botox injection might cause unwanted effects.

I always suggest when doing same day treatments, a facial would be first followed by Botox. One reason being I recommend not laying down for 4 hours after injections.

best time to administer a facial is following your BOTOX® session. However,
it’s very common to combine nonsurgical procedures like BOTOX® and facials to

Botox is a fabulous treatment for fine lines and generally I don't recommend facials for 24 hours after the injections. The next day you can safely have acne surgery, microdermabrasion, or oxygen facials.

Thank you for your question.  Our patients receive their facial prior to their Botox injection.  If you decide to receive Botox prior to your facial, just wait at least 14 days before receiving your facial.  The facial will not dislodge the Botox, so don't worry and enjoy the facial.

Yes you can! But not right away, we would suggest waiting at
least 4-6 weeks after receiving Botox to have a facial done. A deep facial too
soon could spread the Botox to unwanted areas of the face and the associated
facial muscles causing unwanted side effects.
