Hair touching after FUE?

Question

I am 3 weeks after FUE and everytime i touch my head with the tips of my fingers during the wash or to apply the monoxidil and even if i moved the palm of my hand gently over the recepient area i see hairs on my hand, I know shedding is normal at this stage but can touching my head affect the grafts at this stage ? Should i stop touching the new hairs ?

I don't recommend touching your surgery area for about a week after surgery. Touching your head afterwards won't cause permanent damage. But also, you should get contact your doctor first and ask for information.

It ıs very normal that your hair sheds. You can touch your head that is not a problem. The permanent hair grows after the shedding and the total look will be complete around 12-14 months.

It is best to ask your surgeon about post operative care as each doctor has their unique regimen.   There is nothing wrong with touching your scalp.

3 weeks post operative is the time when you can touch and rub your head already, nothing will happen, you can use shower head during washing, rub with finder tips during washing procedure. The hair loss is normal, because we expect some of the hair to fall off before they start to regrow back.

For most people, the graft hairs and grafts will sooner or later shed. They are never a problem for new hairs that start to grow. Usually, there is a lag time between the time the hairs shed (2-8 week and the time the new hair grows (3-8 months). IF for any reason, there is an overlap between the two, pay no attention to it for when the new hair grows, the old hairs from the grafts that may persist beyond 8 weeks, will eventually shed

By hree weeks time you should be completely healed and can return to normal washing. You can rub normally and if there is some shedding it is normal, it is usually just the hair ahaft that is attached to scabs and falls off.
