My philtrum has a hump-like shape rather than curving inwards. Is there any way I can fix the shape without a lip lift? I have a gummy smile so a lip lift would make my gums show even more.

A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. If you already have a prominent gummy smile then this can make the situation worse. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Happily, the type of problem seen in the photos can be addressed, by an experienced injector using an appropriately chosen HA filler. The results are typically immediate, i.e. seen on the spot. Just make sure to consult an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
